Nipped home for a cup of tea on me dinner break yesterday only to take a phone call from the council to say me garage had been burnt out at 4.00 in the morning. It transpires that a nieghbour who heard the comotion managed to get his car out in time and informed the police at the scene that I was the owner of the adjacent garage. Needless to say no Fecker bothered to inform me.
Every piece of camping equipment gone. Two trikes, one of which had almost been restored to the road, suffered fire damage. Wiring harnesses melted paint job and all chrome blistered beyond redemption. Basicall its back to being an engine in a frame.
Turns out to be a wiring fault on the car in next doors garage. Obviously raging for some time as took out both garages on either side. Effing sick doesn't begin to describe.

| Bollox mate, what a pisser. What's the chances of claiming on the car owners insurance. Gotta be worth looking into. Do you know im, is he bigger than ya. Small claims court might be the order of the day.

Trying that mate but under data protection the council can not give out his details. They have given him my details and the hope is that he will contact me. He's an old bloke from Kip Hill so a good slap is not really an option.
Iv'e spoken to him a couple of times when I been jobbing on and he seems a canny enough bloke. However once you enter into the realms of £sd it's a different story. Just have to wait and see.

| Might be worth trying Citizens advice afore an ambulance chaser then. If it was a legit motor and he's insured TPFT then you're the third party innit. Good luck bud.

| I am reliably informed that the geyser whose car caused the fire's insurance will pay out. So as long as he was legit you should be OK but you'll need to take loads of photies etc.

| Gonna chase him up today as he's had all weekend to contact me and not done so. First port of call the busy station, then CAB, then solicitor. In the meantime I am now looking fr something cheap to get me on the road for this year. If I can be arsed to start with it again it's going to take quite a while as I am now further back than when I started. Bollocks.

Police and fire service had an argument about the cause of the fire and the POLICE won.
How does that work you wouldn't ask a fireman to solve a murder would you. Or even ask a politician to govern your country on your behalf.
The upshot of it all means that despite the overwhelming expertise the fire service has at its disposal which judged the fire to be accidental, this decision was over looked by the police who judged it as being an arson attack. Had the fire been accidental then I would have had no problem claiming on the other blokes insurance. However as the police have deemed it a crime then the other bloke is not and cannot be held liable for any damage to any veichle and therefore any third party must claim on their own insurance of which yours f*^@i n@ truly does not have.
My home contents insurance does not cover as the distance between home and the garage is too great and the landlords of the garage aka Derwentside Homes refuse to accept liability and will not proffer any support whatsoever as they allegedly cannot be seen to be acting as a third party in what could possibly become a civil court matter.
Utter utter utter boll@*#ks.
