Alreet,
Nige is exploiting a loophole in the law regarding credit cards issued prior to 1997. Apparantly the contracts prior to this date were illegal and the issuing companies can't uphold them, therefore Nige can have your entire balance cleared. There's a fee but if you've got a grand or two on your card it could well be worth it.
